“Charles Plays Cello” was selected by the Hamilton International Contemporary Music Festival 2025. The piece will be performed on February 22, 2025 in Hamilton (Canada) by the HICMF ensemble.
“Charles Plays Cello” (07 min 35 sec) is a tribute to Charles Mingus and it consists of a sequence of permutations of rhythmic and melodic elements, inspired by the theme of his “Goodbye Pork Pye Hat”.
